The unit keeps an active reenactment schedule, planning at least one primary event during each month. We include a variety of both Living History Public Events and Tactical Immersion Events in our schedule to satisfy the urges of all our members.
Public Events are display-centered, with a high emphasis on public education and interaction focusing on both static and interactive camp displays. Many will hold scheduled battles for demonstration purposes, often with pre-determined strategy and outcome to foster education (and yes, in all honesty also to feed bloodlust and stereotypes for the Hollywood fans). There are normally meal times, and public access to the event is limited to certain times, allowing the reenactors freedom and fun in the evenings. The after-hours dog and pony show is often the best part of the public event.
Tactical Events are designed as immersive, unit-to-unit real-time combat experiences. Battles are the primary focus, and rely on the planning and execution of actual strategy, sometimes in pursuit of pre-planned objectives. Sleep isn't guaranteed, and meals are often eaten in the field. These are limited to reenacting participants, and are as close to the real thing as your health problems, age and uniform preservation desires will allow.
There are often several events on the same weekends. The unit lists here the Primary events they will be attending; secondary events will be mentioned on the Message Board. If you opt to attend a secondary event, notify command and have A Good Reason ready. We get financial and locational concerns (we've all got 'em), but to be a part of the unit, TRY to hang out with us every now and again. We'll start to miss your face otherwise. Note to probationary and accepted members: Secondary event attendance will NOT count towards your participation requirements for trial periods and awards.
This page may change as new events or information becomes available - check back before committing yourself to an event to ensure our unit is still attending!
