This is the website of the 2nd SS Panzer Division "Das Reich" Aufklärungs Abteilung 2. We are a historical reenactment group centered in the American Midwest, mainly in Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio. Our events are centrally located to our members, though we occasionally travel to larger reenactments throughout the Eastern part of the country. The site is designed to give both prospective and current members, as well as interested parties in general, an overview of the activities and standards of our unit, along with the occasional dose of necessary educational information and humor.
The unit exists because of our love for history; we're collectors and amateur historians. Through our reenactments, we hope to accurately portray the German Soldat of the time, and pay homage to all soldiers of the war by bringing accurate and identifiable information to the public. Too often, the wars fade into obscurity and stereotype, and the forces involved fall victim to stereotype. Our unit seeks to reverse this trend through the preservation and re-exploration of weapons, customs, vehicles, artillery, uniforms, artifacts and anecdotes.
